A Month at the Beach in Winter: She's Here!

It rained hard last night, but Evie and I stayed dry in our little place by the sea. She had never experienced thunder and lightning, and I was pleased to see that she remained calm.

And then when morning came, we set about cleaning and organizing and waiting for our special guest to arrive.

About noon we decided to go on an alligator hunt...



..and came up with three, plus one poor expired duck being thrashed to and fro...

And just as we came home to rest up a bit, a little knock came on our door...




Grandma's here! And she's bringing glad tidings and care packages from home.




And now we are overjoyed!
