A Month at the Beach in Winter: Company

Having completed two of our four weeks here at the beach, Evie and I are breaking with routine and doing something new for the second half of our stay.

We slept in past sunrise this morning, and then walked on the beach at a later time of day. Instead of seeing sand dollars, flocks of birds, and a porpoise or two, today we found a horseshoe crab washed up in the surf.

And then we returned to camp to "build" an annex onto our home.

After all, if we're going to last another two weeks, it's time to build an addition!

I had thrown our large family tent into the car in case the weather turned bad and we needed a little extra space to hang out. Instead, it will serve as an overflow room for clothes, books, and things that tend to pile up and expand after a little while of camping...

....and the reason we've decided to do it now is because "company is coming!"

That, right! My mom is going to join us at the beach tomorrow...and we can hardly wait!!
